Top 5 Benefits To A Life Of Inactivity
So, you like to sit around on your butt all day. The thought of any sort of activity never crosses your mind. Well, have I got good news for you. There are many benefits to complete inactivity(with tongue firmly planted in cheek). Here is a short list of some of the best:
- You’ll Never Have To Deal With Bad Weather- If you live a totally inactive life the weather won’t matter to you because you will never leave the comfort of your home, car or office. Who cares if it’s snowing, raining, or cold outside. You’ll be living in climate controlled comfort 24/7. To you, the Weather Channel is just a channel you watch to see all of the pretty colors that are on the weather maps.
- You Can Try Out All Of The Medications Advertised On TV- Who really buys all of those medications they advertise on TV anyway. You! Since you are totally opposed to activity your body will most likely start to atrophy and decay slowly. The upside to that decay is that you will be a prime customer for all of the various medications advertised on TV and in the magazines.
- You’ll Never Miss An Important Phone Call Again- Since you have sworn off activity you will never miss an important phone call because you were outside taking a walk. Your friends, neighbors, and family will be able to call you any time and know that you will be there to take their call. Just think of all of the family squabbles you can get involved with.
- You Can Be An Official Easy Chair Tester- Your lack of activity will prepare you for an exciting career as an easy chair tester. Furniture manufacturers will be calling you day and night hoping you will accept their offers of employment. You can then hand out business cards with the impressive title of “Chief Tester- Easy Chair Division”.
- You Can Spend More Money- If you don’t do anything but sit around all day think of all the extra money you can spend. Retirement savings? Who needs it? Retirement will be a non-issue for you because you will probably be in ill health from living the ultimate inactive life. Because of this, you probably won’t live very long anyway so saving for retirement really doesn’t matter. With all that extra money you’ll have just think about all of the online shopping you can do.
Seriously, there really are no benefits, only negatives, to living a life of inactivity. Our bodies were built for activity and we need to take advantage of that. You don’t need to be an Olympic athlete in order to be active, almost anyone in any condition can do at least some activity. There have been numerous studies showing positive benefits of physical activity in people over ninety years old! So make the decision to become active. Even if it is something as simple as taking a walk, your body will thank you.
